The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Reveals Weapons in New Teaser

Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has quickly become one of the most anticipated games coming out in 2017. According to Nintendo’s E3 website, Breath of the Wild will let players step into the wild lands of Hyrule – a ruined kingdom where you can discover, explore, and adventure your way through forest, fields and mountain peaks. Along your adventure you’ll battle enemies, hunt wild beasts, and survive off the land by gathering ingredients for food and elixirs.

There are over 100 Shries of Trials to explore, all of which contain various puzzles to be solved, and traps and devices which can earn you rewards and special items. To be prepared and properly equipped for your journey, that includes having awesome weapons. So one way Nintendo has been hyping up the game is through the release of small teasers that reveal features from the game. Their latest teaser, which is posted below, showcases these unique weapons:

The first weapon shown in the video looks to be a giant broadsword. It’s so big Link seems to have a difficult time holding it up. He nonetheless is able to feebly swing it over his head, and he performs a swing attack on his enemies, finishing off his last enemy with a final blow. The second weapon looks to be a great axe Link is wielding. Again, Link is facing several enemies and uses one of the unique weapons to perform some attacks to fend them off. After utilizing his great axe and performing several jump attacks, he leaps up into the air, and comes down with his axe to finish off the rest. The next weapon is sheathed away but it’s not any ordinary steel weapon; Link is using a Bokoblin’s skeletal arm against them. He slaps them around a bit and then throws the arm at them. The last weapon looks to be the coolest of all: a wand like weapon that shoots fire balls in all directions. This weapon looks to be useful, as well as chaotic, ricocheting off everything and setting all in its path ablaze.

Apart from the teasers for the game’s weapons, Nintendo has previously released teasers for Runes that will be featured in the game. Among them include the “Cryonis Rune”, which creates ice pillars, the “Magnesis Rune”, which is used to grapple things with, the “Round Bomb”, which is used to blow things up, and the “Statis Rune”, which helps lock things into place. Some of these Runes are reminiscent of older installments to previous Zelda games, but their now upgraded animations.

According to Econotimes, Breath of the Wild will be one of the last titles released for the Wii U. Nintendo is looking to bank in on this new title to the Zelda series. The new installment will also come out for the Nintendo NX. It is scheduled to be released in 2017, but an exact date has not been set, although many believe it will be sometime around March which will parallel the NX’s release date.
