The Last Tinker: City of Colors Announced for Summer Release

Mimimi Productions has developed The Last Tinker: City of Colors, an action adventure that is in development on consoles and Linux, Mac and Windows PC for release this summer, publisher Unity Games announced today. Unity Games, announced its first lineup of publishing projects earlier this year. The list includes titles such as Black Tower Studios’ Archangel and N-Fusion Interactive’s Space Noir (made by the developers of Deus Ex).

Mimimi Productions originally unveiled the game in late 2011 as Tink, and that early prototype won the Best Project 2012 award at Game Connection 2011. Now currently named as The Last Tinker: City of Colors, features Koru, a young boy who lives in the slums of a place called Colortown. Koru must save Colortown from the evil misery in an epic adventure. This adventure, has the spirit of the makings of classic platformer games like Jak and Daxter.

You’ll be able to expand the adventure beyond just platform and combat sections of Colortown by using the enemies to your advantage.

The Last Tinker: City of Colors offers eight hours of gameplay action that includes puzzles and combat, and also addresses cultural issues like racism. The platformer is vibrant with color, as you can see in the trailer below.

FEATURES

– Colorful and joyous out-of-this-world HD environments

– A cast of strange hand drawn off-beat characters

– Color blind mode for people with red-green color blindness

The PC version of The Last Tinker: City of Colors will be available on steam, and will include steam trading cards.

VP of Unity Games Oren Tversky admits that he and his team “have been blown away by how a small indie team can create such an ambitious 3D platform adventure. The Last Tinker: City of Colors, heralds everything we look for in a Unity Games release – solid gameplay, intuitive controls and most of all – originality”.

The Last Tinker: City of Colors went up against over 100 indie games to be crowned “Best Game in Show, Audience Choice” at the Casual Connect 2014 conference in Amsterdam.
