A major leak in the alleged development for The Last of Us Part 3 surfaced yesterday from well-known entertainment news insiders. A Resetera forum user shared alleged information from entertainment news leaker and writer DanielRPK surrounding the plot of Part 3 and the introduction of five new characters named Lucas, Mason, Val, Ezra, and Gracie.
Daniel alleged that part of The Last of Us Part 3’s plot will revolve around a group of five scavengers “surviving in the outskirts of a post-apocalyptic city” using an old Victorian house as their base. Additionally, Daniel gave a brief synopsis of each character’s alleged personality.
Lucas is described as an affable man who “develops a relationship with another young scavenger and will have a turn to show his dark side.” Mason is described as a former soldier who has to choose where his loyalties lie when Val, the alleged new leader of the scavengers, is put in charge. Ezra is described as someone who wants to take over Val’s position as a leader and lastly, Gracie, is the youngest of the group around 18-25. While there is no confirmation it is speculated that Gracie could be the young scavenger that Lucas will develop a relationship with.
ViewerAnon, another well-known leaker, chimed in with other additional information alleging that Ellie will “at least” have an important part in Part 3 as she had in Part 2. ViewerAnon also noted that major filming for Part 3 is allegedly happening this year.
Regardless it remains unconfirmed whether this information is strictly about The Last of Us Part 3 or Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us multiplayer game developing alongside it. Naughty Dog had previously hinted at the possibility of Last of Us Part 3 development in January 2023, with its CEO Neil Druckmann stating that its development depended on the quality of its story.
