Relive the classic adventure of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo Switch 2 in less than a month. To celebrate 40 years of the franchise, a beautifully crafted remake has been made with updated graphics to fit the modernity of video games now.
The story begins with Link, an outcast in the forest, who is the only person without a fairy. One day, a fairy of the forest guides him through the land and to a peculiar tree. It’s large and has a face, and it is here where Link learns this is a guardian spirit–the great Deu tree. His visit was not just to be acquainted with the spirit, but to receive the news of his destiny to save the mythical tri-force. The tri-force is full of the power of goddesses and is at risk of being stolen by an evil being.
Link sets out to the kingdom of Hyrule, where his quest will take place. Around the kingdom he will come across friendly faces, from the average subjects to aquatic royalty, everyone has something of value to discuss with him.
However, there’s more to this journey than conversing with whoever he crosses paths with. With a quest as important as saving the tri-force, battles against dangerous monsters are to be expected. Solve puzzles and use your wits to choose the correct tools in Link’s inventory for each obsticle to advance in the story.
Visit the Hall of Foes to get a glimpse into the enemies of the past who have since been defeated. Each enemy has their own statue dedicated to them and bios that have small synopses of how and where they appear, as well as fun inclusions such as rumors. For example, the Stlchild is rumored to stay hidden in the ground if someone passing by is “cute enough.” If you’re feeling up to combat, you can also challenge them to a rematch.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has always had one important factor that has made it special: the ocarina. Use it to change the landscape of Hyrule with a single melody, and it will “guide you to your new destiny.” You can also hum a melody you learned in game or even play your own instrument to have the ocarina respond to it.
Additionally, there is a mobile app that will be available to accompany the game. Zelda Notes will be the home to small quests and will aid you in expanding your adventure.
Join Link on his journey that transcends time on November 5 on the Switch.
