From the Chinese-based developer, Pathea Games released a cinematic and gameplay trailers December 4th for their newest upcoming game, The God Slayer and have confirmed releases for the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC systems. The independent developer, known for their titles like My Time at Sandrock, Ever Forward, and Planet Explorers, is shifting from their cozy-like gameplay and artwork and is embracing a darker, fantasy-like storyline for The God Slayer, as shown in their trailers. On the official The God Slayer Steam page, there is a small synopsis of the game: “You play as Cheng, whose family was brutally slain by the Celestials during the God Fall. Now, you must embark on a quest to save your people and avenge your loved ones. To achieve this, you will learn to harness and enhance your elemental powers, acquire new skills from ancient scrolls and elemental masters, and refine the flow of qi within you. With dedication, you will gain the power to challenge even the mightiest Celestials.”
The God Slayer is part of PlayStation’s initiative, The China Hero Project, to mentor and support China-based developers create impactful games for a global audience.
