It’s been quite a week for fans of barbarians. Yesterday the trailer for Mortal Kombat 1’s Conan the Barbarian dropped and on top of that we’re blessed with the demo for The First Berserker: Khazan.
When we last saw Khazan it was the berserker’s preview for the Game Awards, and now we’re moving quickly towards Khazan’s release date of March 25th, 2025. Being set in the Dungeon and Fighter series by Neople (more commonly known as DNF, for those familiar with some of the IP’s other properties like the DNF: Duel fighting game or Dungeon Fighter Online, the multiplayer online beat ‘em up) The First Berserker: Khazan follows the story of the first, well, berserker class character chronologically.
Online discussion surrounding Khazan seems a bit muddled, with some people comparing it to Dark Souls and others comparing it to Nioh, with a loot system some have compared to Diablo and Nioh, so an actual demo to clear the air and show us for sure what the game is all about is a good way to let players decide whether or not they want to play this game.
The demo is currently out for Playstation 5 as well as for PC on Steam. If the setting or the bits of gameplay we’ve seen interest you, or if you’re a big fan of Dungeon and Fighter series, then definitely check out the demo and see if this game is the right fit for you, with the release coming soon it’s good to get an idea as to what the game is like and how it’ll live up to the preconceived notions a lot of people have towards the game either due to its gameplay or its setting.
