The Evil Within: The Executioner Will Arrive This Month

More than half a year following its release, The Evil Within will finally be getting its last piece of DLC, thus concluding Tango Gameworks’ debut title and fulfilling the final promise of its Season Pass.

Titled ‘The Executioner’, this third DLC episode will allow players to take on the role of The Keeper, a homicidal lunatic with a safe for a head that the player encounters on several occasions during the main story campaign.

Judging from the below teaser trailer, it appears that, rather than going around bludgeoning innocent people to death, players will be combating The Evil Within‘s more regular foes. A number of tools of a decidedly non-firearm variety will be available for use, such as a chainsaw and meat tenderizer. Most curiously, however, is that it appears this DLC will be played for a first person perspective.

The previous two DLC for The Evil Within had players assume the role of Juli Kidman in a story that runs parallel to the main campaign. It’s unknown at this point if ‘The Executioner’ will be designed in a similar fashion, but barring any further updates, players will find out when it arrives on May 26.
