After 8 years following the initial tease and reveal of The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda has finally provided an update with the official title. As part of Bethesda Game Studios’ 40th anniversary celebration, the studio released this teaser with the revealing the game’s title: The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.
“The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.”

The title confirms last week’s report, which speculated that Sentinel would be the title. XBOX CEO Asha Sharma got a demo earlier this Summer and teased the subtitle in her post, which many speculated to be Sentinel before its official confirmation.
As with the other games in the franchise, the title also gives a clue as to where The Elder Scrolls VI will take place. Sentinel is a city within the province of Hammerfell. It’s located on the northwest coast, alongside Iliac Bay. Hammerfell is located west of Cyrodiil where The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion took place and southwest of Skyrim. Hammerfell’s northern border is shared with the province of High Rock, and its western edge meets the Abacean Sea.
According to the report, the game will dive into the history of Sentinel’s artifacts, allowing players to discover their secrets firsthand for the first time.
