It seems like The Elder Scrolls Online just released the most recent chapter and major expansion with Summerset, another dungeon DLC with the Wolfhunter game pack, and the current Summerfall event. Yet, the folks over at ZeniMax Online Studios have recently announced another story DLC that has been named Murkmire. Main features will include more story quests, a new zone for players, a new group arena, and Update 20.
Murkmire will open the doors for players to a new area of Black Marsh, the home of the Argonian race. In the base game players had a brief introduction to this country in the Shadowfen zone, but it was still somewhat influenced by the lizard peoples’ former Dark Elf slavers. Other areas of Black Marsh have been left largely mysterious in The Elder Scrolls lore because of the dangerous terrain in the wild jungles and swamps. The Murkmire DLC pack will finally give players the chance to learn more about the Argonians’ tribal culture, magical Hist trees, history, secrets, and items.
Along with the upcoming quests, Murkmire will bring more multiplayer content. Teams of four players will be able to fight in the ruins of the Blackrose Prison in a five stage arena mode. Rewards will range from unique weapons, armor sets, and powerful sigils abilities teams may create during the formidable fights and stage progression.
Update 20 brings many changes to The Elder Scrolls Online that will be available for free to base-game players. First, Cyrodiil’s environment will become much more destructible. Bridges will be vulnerable just like an enemy’s walls. This new mechanic will bring new strategies to the PvP area that could take away routes for invading factions. The Cyrodiil zone will also be receiving new strongholds for factions to attack or defend. Second, the game’s housing system will receive some convenient additions such as being able to move multiple home items at once and a feature to allow players to quickly revert a change they just made.
Third, the update will bring quality-of-life changes that will allow players to reorder characters and will aim at the combat system. Notable changes will affect every class (especially sorcerers), counters for damage shield abilities, and light and medium armor passive abilities.
The Murkmire DLC will be available for free for ESO Plus members and for purchase in the Crown Store. However, the studio has stated that they will be releasing more information on how players can earn Murkmire as a daily reward in November.
