The Division’s Public Test Server is Now Live on PC

People can now officially begin to test new Division updates courtesy of Ubisoft adding a Public Test Server for PC. Now players will be able to test updates and provide ample feedback to make the game more enjoyable and less glitchy.

Pior to the launch today the test server did see a minor delay in being produced. Today started out looking not so good as their was a hiccup with the Steam activation, which according to their twitter has been fixed.

Players who choose to jump on the Public Test Server will be able to test the current version of The Division’s 1.4 update, making changes to improve sounds throughout the game as well as make a plethora of gameplay improvements. Players wishing to use these test servers can head over to the Uplay and download in the My Games section. If you would rather go through Steam then the steps are fairly basic, just go to the Library section and download it there.

The only way to gain access to the server however is for those who have already purchased the game. The PTS will be a separate download to prevent any issues with players characters and equipment. Once downloaded players will be given a level 30 character to do with as they please as they test out the new update.

The separate download will take up 45gb and be in a separate folder from the original copy of the game. Giving feedback is also made simple by posting directly to the PTS forum on their website.

The Player Test Server will not be released on the console but the company did say that, “Due to the very nature of the PTS, it would be very hard for us to release updates as regularly and quickly on console versions than it will be on PC. With that said, we are investigating ways to make the PTS available to console gamers in the future”.
