Nobody had heard of Tom Clancy’s The Division until earlier this week, but now it’s probably the most anticipated game of the next generation. Billed as massively multiplayer online tactical shooter action role-playing game that makes you breakfast in bed, The Division‘s slick visuals, tactical RPG combat and the ability to close car doors left its E3 audience awe-struck. Check out the extended gameplay trailer below:
Unfortunately your battle repertoire won’t be as mature and professional as these voice actors, but that’ll largely depend on the company you keep. I’m sure some people’s friends are a well oiled military strategic team but mine are incorrigible assholes.
In The Division, a disease that begins to spread on Black Friday (the darkest of shopping holidays) causes the United States to collapse in 5 days. The player is part of an unconfirmed group that was established to combat “the threat” and do whatever it takes to “save what remains” in a massive multiplayer online situation, pitting you against armies of AI and other players. It looks mad baloobas awesome.
Ubisoft is currently only developing the game for the 8th generation of consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), but made a statement on their official Twitter that they will not be “ruling out any platforms for the future.”
