The Division Gets Shiny New Update!

The Division, Ubisoft’s ambitious apocalyptic open world title, is getting a huge update. Today they announced that update 1.2 is set to launch tomorrow May 24. The update will include a tidal wave of tiny changes, new perks, and one very expansive raid.

At the center of the update is Clear Sky, a new raid that requires a player to be level 30 to attempt. Set in Columbus Circle, players will explore a new part of New York. The yield from this dating task will be high-level gear and other loot goodies. Although we know the level cap for the raid there was no recommended gear score.

In the update, The Division will be getting a new gear set complete with four new perks. They are:

  • Final Measure: Defensive class with powerful exotic resistance. Allows players to defuse enemy grenades and use them in the player’s inventory.
  • Hunter’s Faith: Long range class with improved critical chance hits with marksman weapons. Allows player (with all four items equipped) to gain an armor attribute increase the further range the player is from the enemy.
  • Lone Star: Run and gun class with the ability to grant players 100% more ammo as well as reload by holstering weapons.
  • Predator’s Mark: Stealth class with the ability to add 20 to any weapon range and when complete will add a devastating bleeding effect for landing 10 consecutive shots on the same target.

With the update, we will also see the addition of Player Stash Crates at the edge of Dark Zone check points. This will allow players to access their DZ loot from the DZ itself rather than go all the way to the base of operations.

As for weapons, there are a few new toys. The Centurion M1911 pistol, a shotgun called Medved, a M1A marksman rifle called Historian, and Showstopper a magazine fed shotgun. For players this will be their top treasure, all of the new weapons carry with them unique abilities and attributes.

With any update there is a huge amount of minor tweaks and balance fixes that Ubisoft has also put in. Ubisoft has done a good job in maintaining this massive online game and helping the community ease into these new updates.

Happy Looting.
