Since August of 2018, developers Question have been hard at work with their unique co-op horror game known as The Blackout Club. They originally had their game go up for Early Access back during October of 2018, just in time for the Halloween season. But to add into the creep factor and the genuinely horrifying gameplay, Question added in the Enhanced Horror update that allowed the game to listen and record players if they have a microphone active, similar to the Alien: Isolation Survival mode. And then to add up the paranoia, Question brought in a wild card of an asymmetrical PvP that allowed for a character to go rogue. And all of this leads up to the game’s official release:

In The Blackout Club groups of 1-4 players team up as a group of young teenagers who are trying to solve the haunting mystery surrounding their town. Every night each person goes sleepwalking and then wakes up the next morning with no recollection as to what happened or where they were. Except for this small group of teens who wake up during these “blackouts”. Of course, when they try to bring it to the police, or the adults, no one believes them. So it’s up to them to record evidence in different locations and uncover the mystery of what plagues their hometown.
Each night is an entirely new experience, as the game is procedurally-generated and vary according to everything in the level. This includes enemy patrols, loot placement, mission objectives, and other aspects all differ each time, so no two nights will be the same. And of course, the wild card of one of the teenagers being influenced by The Shape (this world’s boogeyman) means that at any point in time, danger could be around the corner. And while it is possible to hide and dodge The Shape, it can only be seen with your eyes closed.
Team up with friends, live until morning, and solve the mystery, The Blackout Club is finally coming out of Early Access and getting a full release on July 30. It will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. But because of the announcement, the game is currently at a reduced price until the release date, which can be bought on Steam.
