Terraria’s Newest Update, Bigger and Boulder, Launches January 27th

Now fifteen years old, Terraria is well past the point where it is common for games to continue to receive updates, especially those with large amounts of content. Despite its age, the beloved indie title has once again excited its fans with the Bigger and Boulder update. Information on the new features introduced in the update had been limited in the past, but a new trailer on the Re-Logic YouTube channel has finally given a picture of some of what fans can expect when the update releases tomorrow.

The trailer itself is kept just under a minute and a half, with the team saving more information for the release day changelog on the game’s website. It starts off with improved character customization, showing off a wealth of options for clothing. Next it dives straight in the heart of Terraria, revealing some of the items that players will be able to craft and a short round of combat. In addition to crafting items, players will be able to craft the world by combining different modifiers including a Skyblock mode and a challenge for those who are worthy. In total, players will be able to create over 100 different combinations to try out.

In the second half of the trailer, bosses are shown off with the announcement of eight new boss tracks. Fans had known about some of the boss tracks coming through previous update on the Re-Logic YouTube channel and will soon have the chance to experience the rest. The rest of the trailer is a montage of the some of the new features, including the ability to create ice platforms and transform to fit through small spaces.

Terraria is both a deep game and one that is easy for any to play and have fun with. A running theme has been the promise that each update for the game will be its last. Whether or not that is true with Bigger and Boulder, it is sure to make an impression when it releases on January 27th.
