Terraformer Wars is a sci-fi auto battler where futuristic megacorporation’s send out colossal terraformers to dominate faraway planets. The game allows players to customize their terraformers, fitting them with various turrets, cannons, force fields, and space engines. Players can level up their units, determine their behaviors, and assign them military escorts.
There is a total of four difficulty settings and players will face off against enemies in waves. After each one ends, they will be able to access a shop to purchase a variety of gear and allies. However, in order to unlock new equipment, players will need to complete achievements. The type of equipment they unlocked is based off the rarity of the achievement.
16BitNights, the game’s developers, posted the debut trailer for the Demo on their YouTube channel. The trailer reveals the type of gloomy planets they can venture into as well as the various terraformers at their disposal. There is a total of eight different types, the smallest dubbed The Grunt and the largest known as the M.E.V. Terraformer.
There will be a mission select screen where players can pick one of three random choices. These add weather effects as the player is progressing through their terraforming journey. Certain cards can either increase the difficulty, grant the players more currency, can make them lose terraforming progress, and a variety of other effects.
Players will also be able to modify their terraformers, increasing the damage to hold down their line of defense. Terraformer modifications can be purchases via the shop after completing each wave, but the difficulty increases as the players get closer to reaching 100% terraforming progress.
Gameplay will also feature a crafting mechanic, allowing players to combine two similar items to make a better version. Those interested in Terraformer Wars can wishlist the game starting today as well as try out the demo via Steam.
