It was recently announced on the Telltale Games website that there will be a sequel to their 2015-2016 series Minecraft: Story Mode. The first episode of the second season will be called “Hero in Residence” and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, Android devices and iOS devices starting July 11.
Minecraft: Story Mode – Season Two will continue the story of Jesse from the first season and the player’s choices from the original game will carry over and have an influence in this new game. Despite the influence the first season will have on the second, Telltale also claims that newcomers to the series will be able to jump right into Season Two with little-to-no confusion. Season Two will also contain a “Crowd Play” feature, which will allow multiple people to play the game at the same time, with the playable character making the decision with the most votes from the crowd playing.
The announcement explains that the story for Season Two will involve Jesse’s personal life becoming more complicated, due to gaining hero-status after the events of the first season, before being thrown into a new adventure. Old and new characters will be in the game, as well as Minecraft versions of popular Minecraft YouTubers, such as Stampy Cat and stacyplays. Telltale also asks for fans to write in their community forums what other such YouTubers they’d like to see in the game.
Season Two will supposedly have five episodes, like most Telltale games do. However, the first season of Minecraft: Story Mode started off with five episodes and then got three extra ones later on. That doesn’t necessarily mean Season Two will also get extra episodes, but a precedent has been set.
