Telltale’s Game Of Thrones To Conclude With Episode 6 In November

Fans of episodic narrative games have got to be pretty excited this month. With Life Is Strange‘s fifth episode, Polarized, just announced, there was already something to look forward to, but Telltale is also here with more episodic goodness. “The Ice Dragon” is the sixth episode of Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series, and it’s coming out November 17th for Android, iOS, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.  Alongside the press release revealing this information was a special TV cast featurette.

Telltale’s Game of Thrones series is an outlier from the rest of Telltale’s episodic narrative series as it breaks the five episode trend set by nearly every series to come before it. “The Ice Dragon” arrives nearly a year after the release of episode one, “Iron From Ice,” back in December 2014, and if you haven’t touched the series yet, that first episode is now absolutely free. Players of past Telltale episodic games may also note that, for the studio, this is the first series finale to be released simultaneously for all the intended platforms.

As a sort of celebration for the series as it comes to a close, Telltale is releasing an on-disc box set that includes all six episodes, to be made available on November 17th with episode six’s release. With a price tag of $29.99, the set will be available for PlayStation 3/4 and Xbox 360/One around the world, and on PC in Europe.

Telltale’s CEO and co-founder, Kevin Bruner, said of the series, “[t]he epic conclusion to the season is the most ambitious and diversely presented episode we’ve ever produced,” and when you line it up next to the other episodic series Telltale has become known for, such as Tales From The Borderlands, Minecraft: Story Mode, and The Wolf Among Us, the claim starts to really carry some weight.

Once more, episode six, “The Ice Dragon,” releases November 17th for Android, iOS, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
