Telltale Games isn’t done with zombies yet–and thank goodness. With their fine eye for detail, and a knack for making us cry our hearts out, the developers have turned their focus away from the tale of Clem and towards a storyline more directly linked to the comics, starting with a miniseries starring the popular TV and Comic book character, Michonne.
Today the gang at Telltale released a six minute video via their official YouTube channel. In it, we can view a little bit of what we can to expect from them plot wise and in gameplay.
Out on February 23rd, The Walking Dead: Michonne will be available for Playstations 3 and 4, Xbox One and 360, PC, and Mac. The miniseries will consist of three episodes, and feature everyone’s favorite the katana wielding female protagonist.
On the coattails of its initial release, the game series will also receive a later launch for iOS and Android devices, on February 25th.
Unfortunately for hardcore fans of the TV show, Michonne will not be portrayed by her stellar TV actress Danai Gurira. However, she will be played by Samira Wiley, of Orange is the New Black fame.
In the past, Telltale has brought us nothing short of exceptional games centered around gripping and heartrending stories, as well as characters we can’t help but become emotionally invested in. It will be interesting to see what developers choose to do with a character who already has such a large fan base. Knowing Telltale, they will probably hit the ground running right away.
