Telltale Launches Episode 1 “In Too Deep” Of The Walking Dead: Michonne Miniseries

Telltale’s spin-off miniseries centered around everyone’s favorite katana wielding wonder woman, The Walking Dead: Michonne, had its first episode in a three part arc launch as of February 23rd.

Available for almost every console available–PC/Mac, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, iOS and Android–for $4.99 USD. If you skip a coffee run,

Alongside Episode One, developers at Telltale also released a neat “Behind-the-scenes” trailer to help fans delve further into the story. In the video the team at telltale takes time to lay out “how this story fits into the existing Walking Dead universe.”

Using the comics, rather than the show, as a jumping base for their story, this three part series will expand on her storyline. According to HardcoreGamer, comic series creotor Robert Kirkman imparted Telltale with special information that no one else knows as of yet.

CEO Kevin Bruner, when approached, stated:

We know where Michonne is going to be in the comics going forward, and that’s a really good thing for Telltale because we can make the storytelling customized to you, so we can get everybody back to that place where Michonne can step back into the comic book world but you still feel like you’ve crafted her perspective on the world.

Overall gameplay for this first installment should last players an hour and a half–which for the price is not half bad! Reviews range from fair to positive. I mean, paying 5 bucks for nearly two hours of Telltale quality is not half bad at all.

Episode 2: Give No Shelter will be out this month in March.
