Telltale Game’s Next Title Will Be Open World, Survival Horror ‘7 Days To Die’

Telltale, the once indie developers who were rocketed into fame by their original first season of The Walking Dead episodic game, continues to have a very busy year. Having previously launched a second season starring fan favorite Clem, a companion mini-series centered around the popular TV/Comic character Michonne, also released new details on their Batman game, the super star developers turned around and almost in one breath announced third season for their flagship Walking Dead series would be out this year.

You would think they would want to take a vacation after all that.

Believe it or not, Telltale is the little dev that just keeps going–or really in this case, publishers.
Telltale will be publishing survival horror game, 7 Day to Die, developed by Dallas-based studio, The Fun Pimps. The game has been available to play on Steam’s Early Access for Windows, Mac, and Linux, since December of 2013.

Part first person shooter, part RPG, players are able to explore the open post apocalyptic world, with the ability to craft, customize, mine, and loot.

To throw a match on the hype fire, Telltale released this live action trailer:

Telltale also posted a few detailed screencaps from the game, and when asked for a statement Steve Allison, Telltale’s senior vice president of publishing said:

The Fun Pimps have redefined what the survival genre can be with unrivalled world-building, crafting, and character growth. With overwhelmingly positive user feedback for the PC version, we can’t wait to expose a brand new audience to this exceptional and terrifying sandbox experience.

Alongside Telltale’s announcement, The Fun Pimps’ co-founder Richard Huenink released statement on behalf of the developers, saying:

7 Days to Die is a labor of love for our small group of games industry veterans. After a highly successful Kickstarter campaign, we’re grateful to have had a wonderful response from our active community of Steam Early Access users; now, our partners at Telltale Publishing are enabling us to get the game in front of new survivors across the globe…

The game will be available for purchase this coming June for console release (Xbox One, and Playstation 4) for $29.99 USD. Telltale is also sweetening the deal, offering players who pre-order five unique character skins from their previous Walking Dead games–including characters Lee and Michonne.

You can buy 7 Way to Die on your PS4 and Xbox One for $30 this summer!
