Telltale Announces Next Guardians of the Galaxy Episode, Releases Trailer for The Walking Dead Finale

Telltale Games made two big marketing moves in a short span of time recently. One of them was the announcement of the second episode of their Guardians of the Galaxy series, which debuted last month. The second episode will be called “Under Pressure,” likely a reference to the Queen and David Bowie song of the same name, and will be released on June 6 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Android devices and iOS devices.

Not many more details were given on the new episode in the official announcement. The last noteworthy statement given by Telltale is, “And get ready to delve into a certain Rocket Raccoon’s past…” Earlier this year at PAX EAST 2017, one of the members of the Telltale panel stated, “There’s a really cool symmetry between the number of episodes of the story and the number of characters in Guardians [of the Galaxy] and we actually really took advantage of that.” This seems to imply that the player will be able to play as a different Guardian in each episode. Given that extra sentence about Rocket at the end of the announcement, it seems likely that Rocket may be the playable character in the second episode, or there will at least be more of a focus on him.

In other Telltale-related news, the company recently released the trailer for the final episode of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, which becomes available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Android and iOS this coming Tuesday, May 30. The trailer is pretty vague, likely purposely to not spoil much of the finale, but there appear to be two main plot points for the upcoming episode. One is the escape from the zombie-infested Richmond and the other is a fight between Javier and his brother David. What their fight is about isn’t entirely clear; it could be about Kate, it could be about the fall of Richmond or, given David’s penchant for overreacted outbursts, it could be about something else entirely. You can watch the trailer below.
