Today Telltale Games announced not one but three games, beginning with the sequel to Batman: The Telltale Series– Batman: Enemy Within.
Last year Batman: The Telltale Series allowed players to be The Batman and make decisions that affected the whole of Gotham City. Unlike other Batman games, the Telltale game showed players both sides of the Batman persona- the enigmatic Dark Knight and the famous Bruce Wayne. The decisions made while Batman affected Bruce Wayne and vice versa until a new and interesting story unfolded filled with new revelations.
In Batman: Enemy Within Telltale will be pushing Bruce Wayne to the extreme, asking the question “how deep into the darkness will you let Bruce descend?” At least two famous Batman villains have been confirmed to appear in the game, the viscious Joker and the devious Riddler, two foes known for pushing Batman to his absolute limits.
Telltale also announced that Crowd Play would be returning in Batman: Enemy Within. An interesting way to incorporate multiplayer into a mostly solo experience, Crowd Play was a feature in Batman: The Telltale Series that allowed players to connect with friends who would then vote on the decisions the player would make during the game.
Batman: Enemy Within’s first episode will be releasing August 8th on Xbox One, PS4, and PC with the iOS and Android versions arriving later this year.
Next, Telltale announced Season 4 of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series. Working under the title The Final Season, the game returns players to the familiar shoes of Clementine- the young girl who has seen many trials and tribulations as she fights to survive the harsh world of The Walking Dead. “It’s going to be an amazing experience,” said Melissa Hutchison, the award-winning voice of Clementine.
The final season will see Clementine finally deciding for herself what “family” truly means in a chaotic world like the one depicted in The Walking Dead. Will she find A.J., or will she once again be met with disappointment? Only The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series- The Final Season will answer all of fans’ burning questions.
Finally, Telltale announced the long-awaited second season to The Wolf Among Us. The game follows Sherriff Bigsby Wolf (aka The Big Bad Wolf) as he navigates the carefully concealed community of storybook characters who have become trapped in the modern world. With colorful characters such as the shady Mr.Toad and the rhyme-demanding Magic Mirror, The Wolf Among Us managed to remain whimsical while still giving players the morality bending choices expected of a Telltale game.
While Telltale has said that the Wolf Among Us 2 will stand alone from the first, it promises to return fans to the world of Fables– the highly praised comic from creator Bill Willingham and published by DC under it’s Vertigo brand.
Both The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series’ final season and The Wolf Among Us 2 are set to release in 2018 on consoles, PC/Mac, iOS, and Android.
