After the previous open betas and with all the roster reveals done, now it’s time for Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 to go through one final preview before it’s inevitable release on January 26th, 2024 with a demo set to go live on December 14th for Playstation 5 and December 21st for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
The demo will be the release version of the game, with changes made from the betas, albeit with some obviously limited features. In the demo you’ll be free to practice to your heart’s content with the release versions of Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, Nina Williams, and Paul Phoenix.
Another interesting feature that’s displayed prominently in the demo is the first chapter of Tekken 8’s story mode, “The Dark Awakens”. Tekken has placed a high amount of faith in its story department since Tekken 7, and no doubt this new story mode will be much improved from that direction, with Tekken 8’s story being the final chapter in the long-running Mishima saga, with Heihachi Mishima finally gone (for now) and the final clash between Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima being touted as the game’s narrative climax.
Also on December 14th there will be a special World Premiere event for Tekken 8’s story and demo modes hosted by Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada and WWE wrestler Xavier Woods on Bandai Namco’s Twitch and YouTube.
Again, if you want to get an early preview of Tekken 8 (and lab some combos if you’re a Jin, Kazuya, Nina, or Paul main) then you can download and play Tekken 8’s demo on December 14th for Playstation 5 and PC for Steam and Xbox Series X|S a week later on December 21st, or if you prefer you can wait for Tekken 8’s full release on January 24th, 2024 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Steam.
