Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge Announced

Today, publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games have announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge a new side-scrolling beat-em-up game that pays homage to classic TMNT games such as 1989’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the sequel, Turtles in Time by invoking the Turtles’ legendary 1987 design. The game will feature groundbreaking gameplay rooted in classic brawling mechanics as you bash your way through gorgeous pixel art environments and slay tons of hellacious enemies as one of your favorite Turtle.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has the turtles battling across a righteous range of timeless TMNT locations after Bebop and Rocksteady assault Channel 6 and steals some super gnarly devices to support Krang and Shredder’s latest twisted plan. Locations range from Manhattan and Coney Island to city rooftops and dank sewers. Along the way, Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael will have to contend with Foot Soldiers, Triceraton Warriors, and Rock Troops.

The game takes heavy inspiration from the 1987 TV show. Every character, vehicle, weapon, item, and background will make you feel like you hopped into the television. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will feature a radical new story mode, the beautiful full-color pixel art graphics, and old-school gameplay enhanced with super-fresh mechanics. More information will be revealed at a later date. The game will be coming to PC and consoles.

The reveal trailer shows off gameplay featuring a look at some of the locations and enemies that the Turtles will have to face. The trailer also has a new version of the classic TMNT theme song that was performed by Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, and Faith No More frontman Mike Patton.
