In recent news, Electronic Arts has officially announced a renewed partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment that brings Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond, which just had their season finale a little while ago, to EA SPORTS FC 27. So fans of Ted Lasso will be able to represent the AFC Richmond Club in career mode, which Ted leads. EA SPORTS FC™ 27 is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Ted Lasso premiered back in August to record-breaking debut numbers for Apple TV, surprised many by pivoting to women’s soccer, and was overall well received by fans and critics. So honestly, it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise that Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond are coming to FC 27, as it’s a match made in sports. With this collaboration, players will be able to play as AFC Richmond Women in EA SPORTS FC 27. It features legendary characters, environments, and themed rewards across Career Mode, Football Ultimate Team, and more. The team will be available through Women’s Rest of World and will be playable across Kick Off, Career, and Online Seasons. Nelson Road also returns as an in-game stadium, allowing players to manage and play on the Dog Track. In Manager Career Mode, players will be able to play as Ted Lasso and manage AFC Richmond Women, with deeper integration across social media stories, cutscenes, and touchline interactions, as well as themed Challenges.

However you play, FC 27 and Ted Lasso are united by the belief that football is better together.”
This collaboration between Ted Lasso and FC 27 is really cool to see, as Ted Lasso, in its recent season, has been heavily integrating women’s football, so much so that they even appeared during the FIFA World Cup this year. And with Ted Lasso no stranger to referencing other media, you can most likely expect FC Sports to debut in a later season.
