We’re only a little more than a month away from the re-release of one of the most revered JRPGs of all time. Tales of Symphonia Remastered will be launching on February 17, 2023, and Bandai Namco is getting us ready with a sweet preview of what we can expect. The company has released a brand new gameplay trailer, complete with world traveling, dialogue, and most of all, the classic Multi-Line Linear Motion Battle System, in fully fledged 3D, which was a first for the franchise way back in 2003.
For those who have played the original 2003 GameCube title, this trailer will essentially be a 20-year refresher on the story, visuals, and how the combat works. For those who have never played Tales of Symphonia, this is a perfect way to introduce yourself to the title. The trailer, albeit a fairly short one, shows the characters exploring towns and dungeon crawling, and most importantly the Multi-Line Linear Motion Battle System. We also see the Unison Attack mechanic, which allows to combine an attack with another party member for some huge damage.
We’ve gone over this several times now but Tales of Symphonia is easily one of the best JRPGs of all time, and one of the greatest GameCube titles back in the day. The game has gone on to be re-released for the PlayStation 3 in 2014 with some updated visuals but was more or less a port of the 2003 experience. This will be the first true remaster of the title, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Tales of Symphonia Remastered will launch next month on February 17, 2023, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, and the Nintendo Switch.
