Often considered a fervent fan favorite in the Tales Series, Japanese fantasy RPG Tales of Symphonia is now out on Steam and playable on PC for the first time for $20 USD. While it isn’t the first of its series to be available for PC, it is a welcomed addition to the digital storefront. This new PC release of the game is based off of the updated PS3 port.
Originally released for Nintendo’s GameCube back in 2003, the game’s popularity flourished among fans, going on to inspire manga, animes, audio CD dramas, as well as two novelizations of the game’s plot. It won multiple game awards in Japan, and initially sold over 100 thousand copies in North America.
The HD graphics pull through with smooth animations, and improved cutscenes–as well as the addition of added animated cutscenes on top of their already timeless, fluent anime moments.
The quality of music was also boosted, and items are at least five times easier on the eyes.
The other Tales game available on Steam is Tales of Zesteria, launched back in October of 2015. With the addition of TOS to the line up offered on Steam, it appears that the company is making an effort to stock its shelves with more JRPGs–a demographic of games sorely lacking.
Following on the coattails of its predecessors, Tales of Bersia is next to come to Steam.
You can now play Tales of Symphonia on PC via Steam for $20 USD!
