The second installment of the Tales from the Borderlands episodic choose-your-own-adventure game is finally here and marks Telltale Games’ 100th episode.
It has been a four month wait for fans of the Tales from the Borderlands Telltale Games series. The first episode, “Zer0 Sum,” premiered back in November and the much-anticipated episode two, “Atlas Mugged” is now available across all platforms (PC/Mac, PS3/PS4, Xbox 360/Xbox One, and iOS/Android app stores).
Job Stauffer, Telltale Games Director of Public Relations previously commented on the delay:
“After the premiere, we took some time to look at everyone’s feedback and take a closer look at different choices being made, listening to the player community. These factor into the overall development process. Remember, we’re in live development! This series was a fresh idea and a unique take on an existing universe, and it meant we had to listen very carefully to what you had to say, and what you did in the premiere” (via Telltale Games community forum).
More importantly, Job expressed Telltale Games’ commitment to quality content in its series,
We’re always striving to deliver quality content on a frequent and more predictable basis, but at the end of the day, quality content comes first.
And if you have played Borderlands, Borderlands 2, or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, you will appreciate the quality content that Telltale Games is putting forth to continue the adventures and mayhem in Tales from the Borderlands. Not only are the cel-shading art styles present and trademark humor well-portrayed, which offer a seamless transition despite the different play style, but the plot and character development have also been on point.
I haven’t played the episode yet, but it’s downloading as I type and I think the wait will have been worthwhile. If you need a brief recap like I did, check out the episode’s official trailer below.
