Syberia and its remaster, developed and published by Microids Studio, feature a mystery plot from the perspective of Kate Walker. The detective travels to a remote French village, uncovering a case of a missing person searching for the last mammoths which leads her all across Europe. During her journey, she is joined by Oscar the automaton while on the way to the island of Syberia. The remastered version sells itself as a faithful recreation of the classic story, while using modern technology to enhance the medium that delivers that story.
The original game follows the point-and-click style of adventuring which was popular at the time of its release. Syberia Remastered brings the game into theremake, modern age with the ability to traverse 3D space. The puzzles have also been changed to make them more intuitive to players of the newer games of the series. In particular, the game takes cues from the latest Syberia game, Syberia: The World Before, for its updates to the original gameplay experience.
