Evade shark attacks, build a sustainable raft, and make sure to survive in the upcoming multiplayer adventure game Raft. Whether you’re building craft material or fighting for your life, it’ll be imperative to stay one step ahead of nature.
Players are thrust into a world at sea, with little around them apart from a small raft and a hook made out of old plastic. There is no land in sight, and nothing but a vast blue ocean to remain lost in. Surviving is the main objective, which is immediately made known to the players who awaken parched and starved. Gathering resources is the first step in a successful playthrough, and can be managed through catching floating debris, getting creative with the hook when possible, and seeing what lies amidst the reefs beneath the continuous waves. Though, if this isn’t stress-inducing enough, fret not, because a man-eating shark thirsts for the player throughout the entire journey.
Raft can be made a little easier through utilizing the multiplayer, which can be tackled with friends or matches online. Though, for those daring enough, playing solo is also a viable option. Players must be willing to fight off potential threats through crafting weapons they design through partaking in research. The depths are filled with treasure, so dropping an anchor and exploring the ocean is a risk, but can often lead to some valuable rewards. Rafts can be built upon, meaning your once dreary wooden pallet can be transformed into a buoyant mansion, and create the bit of hope needed to keep pushing forward.
Raft will be available for PC on Steam’s Early Access on May 23.
