Ready or not players, the game Forever Skies will be heading to PS5 this year. It was announced on February 15th that the game “will have its console debut exclusively on PS5 in 2024, on the same day as full release on PC”. Along with the announcement the “PS5 Exclusivity Trailer was dropped.”
Forever Skies was released on Steam for early access in June of 2023. The game is being developed by Far From Home and published by Far From Home. The developers Far From Home entered into a partnership alongside PlayStation. The partnership with Playstation will provide “development support, and funding“. This is what Andrezej Blumenfeld the “Forever Skies Gameplay Lead” had to say regarding the partnership:
Far From Home has teamed up with PlayStation to focus on making Forever Skies the best it can be for its console debut. So, at the end of PC Early Access when we’re ready to release the full game, we’ll be launching it on PlayStation 5 for consoles. Worry not though, this will not affect the ongoing development or release of the Steam version which will come out at the same time.
Forever Skies is a “first-person, high-tech airship-themed, sci-fi survival adventure” game that “will support both single-player and up to 4-player co-op”. The last Patch Note for the game was released on the 15th of February. Forever Skies‘ “next major content update” has been scheduled to take place around March and or April. According to developer Far From Home’s official website in the game:
you are a lone scientist, returning to Earth long after a global ecological catastrophe has left the planet uninhabitable to humans. You will fly in hi-tech airship high above the toxic clouds that are the remnants of humanity’s last stand.
