Supermassive Games has been hard at work since August of last year on their new interactive horror series called The Dark Pictures Anthology. And they’ve been building up and building up the first title of that series known as Man of Medan, which coincidentally releases tomorrow. And it’s still being hyped up to be one of the scariest games of the year; bringing in new fears, new choices, and a whole lot of consequences. But there’s something that people weren’t expecting from an anthology games… that being a post-credits tease for the next title, Little Hope:

The trailer was revealed by Twitter user @slashthrasher as it wasn’t until the credits of Man of Medan that it got revealed. However, calling it a ‘sequel’ would be misinterpretation, as Supermassive has previously described that each story is a stand-alone, but all connected by real-life mysteries that may or may not be haunted, haunted, haunted, or straight up haunted. And watching what looks to be a young girl in some period-style clothing offer a doll to a couple of characters, things start to get dark, with hands coming up from the ground, screams in the night, and all ending with a sign that leads them to a place called Little Hope.
And this is where the research comes in. There are 3 towns in the US that have the name Little Hope. One in Alabama, one in Pennsylvania, and one in Wisconsin. However, Little Hope, Pennsylvania is technically Greenfield, so it might not be there. And after some digging, there’s a connection with what’s given in the trailer, and in Little Hope, Alabama. That being, a church and cemetery that was established in 1842. The outfit that the young girl is similar to that of fashion in the 1840’s, with the collar and apron. Little Hope, Alabama is also nearby Birmingham, Alabama which has some of the most haunted hotels in the state. This is all speculation, as the game might be in an unnamed state, and only the named county or town and the hauntings may be based on a different time and event, such as connections to witchcraft given the creepy running around the fire and maybe voodoo doll. But there are some connections here or there.
The Dark Pictures: Little Hope is set to come out some time in 2020.
