Nokta Games, developer of Supermarket Simulator, has announced that their game will be exiting early access and making its official V1.0 release on PC via Steam. The early access has over 65,000 very positive reviews, making the game quite promising.
Supermarket Simulator is advertised as a chill first-person simulation game that replicates all the intricate details of running a supermarket. Each player can eventually create their own grocery empire, but first has to deal with stocking shelves, managing staff, and dealing with shoplifters.
To reflect those ambitions, the newest version of the game will include 10 major feature updates, according to a press release. Additions included more store customization, local markets, vehicle systems, shoplifter mechanics, a cleaning system, and the ability to offer customer discounts. Each of these features will make the game more realistic and add a greater level of strategic decision-making. Furthermore, the game will add two entirely new features: online orders and town deliveries. Both mechanics will add a layer of management and logistics that will challenge players. A number of quality of life improvements and performance optimization changes have also been added. Gameplay should now be smoother regardless of the performance capabilities of the player’s setup, the UI should feel better, bugs should be less common, and certain mechanics will be more intuitive.
The official release trailer showcases the game’s many features, character models, upgrade paths, music, and management options. The store appears to be entirely customizable, as the player is responsible for placing down every single aspect of the store and decorating the interior as well as the exterior. Most importantly, the trailer teases a soon-to-be-released multiplayer mode that would allow at least one other player to join you in creating a supermarket empire.
It’s important to note that the game was created by a solo developer, meaning updates may take time. However, the developer has responded to community feedback and has announced that they’re working on making the game available on console in 2025. Currently, there is a 25% discount on Steam to celebrate the launch of the game.
