It’s important to note that this promotion only applies to those who have actually purchased SUPERHOT and not received it via giveaway or as a free game of the month. This applies to major monthly specials such as PlayStation Plus, Xbox Games with Gold, Twitch Prime, and any other similar deals from other outlets. Thankfully, SUPERHOT is almost always on sale, mostly through Steam where it’s currently advertised at $9.99 with a 60% discount.
SUPERHOT: Mind Control Delete was initially supposed to be an actual add-on for the original SUPERHOT, but as development went on, it was greatly expanded and eventually and became a new IP for the studio. The title went into Early Access in 2017 through Steam, where it continued to add more story elements as well as brand new characters and weapons to use. However, it’s the trademark SUPERHOT gameplay that still makes it a blast to play through.
The SUPERHOT series uses a special gimmick, where time will only move when your character moves. This also applies to enemies as they won’t attack you until you move any part of your body. This creates an intense and exciting combination of first-person shooter mechanics and puzzle elements, where you need to find a way to survive and advance through each level. The game was critically acclaimed for its ingenuity and is considered one of the best fps titles of the 2010s. The studio continued this success with SUPERHOT VR which was also generally well received and considered a must-have for VR players.
SUPERHOT: Mind Control Delete looks to keep the signature gameplay going, albeit with a random order of leveling, enemies, and weapons more akin to a rogue-like. Either way, we’re very excited to get our hands on this stand-alone title from the franchise, and it’s coming in less than a week.
SUPERHOT: Mind Control Delete will officially launch on July 16 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.
