Superhot, the stylish first-person, time-warping, puzzle-solving action shooter, appears to be on its way to the Nintendo Switch. Yesterday a dataminer posted to Twitter his discovery of an update to Superhot on Nintendo’s servers that went out on Friday, although Superhot is (not yet) playable on the platform.
The screenshot shows a game ID for Superhot on the Switch as well as an icon for Nintendo’s eShop, and the recent update of the game might indicate that Superhot will launch on the Nintendo Switch soon.
Daniel Ahmad, Senior Analyst at Asia-focused market research firm Niko Partners, also tweeted this week that “two games will be shadow dropped” by Nintendo during their “Indie World” video event, and that they will both be “Hot.” Ahmad’s information certainly lends a lot of support to Nintendo showing off a version of Superhot for the Switch during the event, and potentially making it available for download shortly after.
Superhot Team’s innovative Superhot first launched in 2016 for PC, with Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and VR versions following its breakout success. Japanese developer GameTomo announced lat year that they would make an alternate-reality version of the game with a “dense Japanese aesthetic” called Superhot JP. GameTomo has to make any announcement about the progress of their version of Superhot.
Nintendo’s Indie World video showcase event for Gamescom 2019 will stream live on August 19th, starting at the very early time of 6:00 AM PT. Nintendo promises “roughly 20 minutes of information on indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch.” The presentation can be viewed on Nintendo’s site, as well as their Twitch and YouTube channels.
