Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania Gets An Animated Launch Trailer

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania released today along with an animated trailer filled with charm and vibrant colors. The trailer showcases many of the wacky and silly characters in the Super Monkey Ball series along with some special Sega cameos. The variety of personalities shines brightly in the trailer as AiAi, MeeMee, Baby, GonGon, YanYan and Doctor roll around their world, collecting bananas and facing Dr. Bad-Boon. The fun and exciting music was created by Hyper Potions. The team has involved themselves with past Sega games like Sonic Mania and Team Sonic Racing. One of their songs has even appeared in the Sonic The Hedgehog movie.

The animation was done by Powerhouse Animation, the studio that worked on Netflix animated series Castlevania and Master of the Universe: Revelation. Global Community Manager for Sega of America, Danny Russell, tweeted thanking everyone for their help in the production of this trailer.

Sonic and Tails from the Sega video game series, Sonic The Hedgehog, were seen towards the end of the trailer, playing on one of the original Super Monkey Ball arcade machines. The two characters are actually playable in Banana Mania alongside many other guest characters like Suezo from Monster Rancher, Morgana from Persona 5 and Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series. The characters Morgana, Sueza and Hello Kitty are paid downloadable content that will cost $4.99 each.

A celebration of the series’ 20th anniversary, Banana Mania offers players the ability to roll through previous games Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2 and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. Players can complete over 300 stages filled with zany and challenging terrains while collecting bananas on their way towards the goal. The game also allows players to play with their friends through offline minigames and online leaderboards. The game is now available on Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Steam for $39.99.
