In the rumor mill for five years, fans are happy to hear today that single player, platformer Super Meat Boy will at long last be getting its long awaited release for the Wii U.
Created back in 2009, the game saw nothing but critical acclaim when released, making a name for its independent developer (of later Binding of Isaac fame) Edmund McMillen. Canceled for the WiiWare back in 2010, this release is surely not too late, as developers are also dealing with a ton of changes and press for a Binding of Isaac Wii release (which has also been in high demand for too long a time).
Having already seen a release for OS devices (unlike BOI: Afterbirth, which was denied by Apple for boggling reasons), Super Meat Boy will received its Wii U release just in time for everyone’s Mother’s Day week, on May 12th–just a few days!
The game will be available for download on the Nintendo e-shop, the newest port of the game was announced via the above trailer, and the game will also be on sale to kick off the long-awaited event–starting things off with a discount.
Make sure to check out the trailer posted above, and to purchased your discounted version of Super Meat Boy for the Wii U on this upcoming May 12th!
