Haex, a new action-adventure game was announced during the Summer Games Fest. From Dead Astronauts, a studio in Sweden, comes a game where players play as researchers stuck in an out of reality geometrical world. Armed with a gun, control cube and lots of space to run through, the game will be available in 2027 on Steam and Epic Games Store.
The trailer shows a world full of geometrical and in-human creatures, the playable character has control over this cube that’s able to shape the very world they’re in but not only that. As they’re armed with a gun, to shoot sludgy creatures after them. The playable character and others run through the world towards this huge geometrical building, inside they adventure through insane structures, with huge jumps and a gun. The geometrical systems seem to be alive and chasing after them, as it floats above the forestry the playable character and friends are hiding in. But not to worry, the trailer expands more on the cube, as it shows the playable character pulling the cube out of a slab in the ground, and running as the slab itself grows into pillars after them, until the playable character uses the cube and it stops, ending the trailer on this cliff-hanger. The New trailer can be found below:
Haex is a “co-op survival shooter” that allows a team of 1-4 players to play, players can play on their own or play with a friend. The game’s Steam page expands more on the dynamics of the game, as the researchers are forced to explore what caused the world of Haex, especially with multiple different individuals in the storyline who have information, and live despite the horrors of the “alien” creatures after them. The cube is also alien made and serves a greater purpose as shown in the trailer, as it can be “upgraded” for abilities like “double jumping” and more.” There’ll be alien “seeds,” with multiple abilities, and a variety of weapons on hand e.tc. The Steam page also reveals the game will be coming to early access soon, though the date is up in the air. The developers detail that the game should be in early access for about “12 to 18 months” using that time to work with the hex community to improve the game, the full version of Haex will differ from the early access in “content,” “scale, depth, and refinement.” One nice surprise is the Haex team will not change Haex’s price upon its full release! Early access buyers will receive “future updates” and the “full 1.0 release” for free.
