Summer Games Fest 2023: Park Beyond Preview

Summer Games Fest is currently underway and we got to go hands on with a plethora of different games today. At the Bandai Namco booth we got to experience Park Beyond. This game is a classic theme park builder where you construct and run a theme park with nothing to stop you aside from your imagination.

In the 30 minutes we got to play the game, I was able to build a variety of different rides from flat rides like the classic Ferris Wheel to a slow moving roller coaster for children to enjoy at the park. I also was able to build a more wild roller coaster with a huge loop around, though we may have just watched the riders fly off into oblivion as the ride was tested for safety similar to classic RollerCoaster Tycoon vibes.

Constructions of the rides is simple with flat rides just being able to be placed in a open area. Roller coasters are built by placing and building the track around an open area. There are tons of options available like being able to adjust the heights of the tracks, add loops, sharp turns, and steep drops. All this is available with the simplicity of the menu and controls of  the keyboard. You’re also able to build a variety of different buildings such as staff lounges, food and drink shops, as well as entertainment options for the people attending to enjoy.

We also got to see a fully fleshed out park. That park had a wide swath of different types of rides that looked incredible for the people to enjoy, and really showed how much you are able to create. It was also hugely Pac-Man themed so it was awesome seeing a giant Pac-Man statue in the park on top of the giant maze being a highlight of the created park.

Overall, it looks like Park Beyond will be something that anyone that’s a park building fan will surely enjoy. The game is set to release next week on June 15 on every platform.
