We’ve officially entered into one of the most anticipated time frames for the video game industry. Geoff Keighly’s Summer Game Fest is all set to commence next week on Thursday, June 9, and will set the precedent for everyone else in the month of June. Keighly has only added to this by revealing the long-awaited list of publishing partners and developers who will be participating during the event. As always, the list is a doozy, containing a who’s who of big names in the industry, all of which had a lasting impact in the community.
As you can see in the tweet above, the list is ripe with well-known publishers and developers. Big names such as Activision, Sega, Xbox, Netflix, Square Enix, EA, and Steam all grace the list, and the even crazier part is that Keighly says that there are more names to come. There will be more names added to the list in the coming days, making this event even more grandiose than it already appears. This will be the third year in a row for Keighly’s own event, which began in 2020 as a replacement for E3 which was canceled due to the worldwide effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Despite returning in 2021, E3 2022’s in-person event was changed to digital one before being canceled altogether, leaving the Summer Game Fest as the current major event of the season.
The Summer Game Fest 2022 will be livestreamed on various platforms, including select IMAX theaters, and as we already mentioned, will include participation from all of the aforementioned partners announced, and more that have yet to be announced. As if this event wasn’t enough, Microsoft will also be holding their own special event, the Xbox and Bethesda Game Showcase, the very next weekend on Sunday, June 12. Let’s also not forget all of the other unannounced livestreams that will more than likely coincide with that week, and beyond, and we cannot wait to see what is announced at all of them.
