Just two days before the scheduled launch for the second season of Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League, developer Rocksteady has announced a last-minute delay for the looter-shooter’s new season. Season 2 (titled Episode 3: Frozen Hearts) is now set to release on July 25th, 2024, two weeks later than the originally planned drop. The delay was announced via the game’s official Twitter account in a tweet seen below:
The new season was set to debut a new playable character Mrs. Freeze, an alternate timeline version of the infamous Mr. Freeze from the Batman universe of villains. The update is also set to include a new Battle Pass, new Infamy Sets and Notorious Gear, and new locations in Elseworlds Mayhem and the Metropolis overworld. There is also a midseason update schedule, which will mark the release of Episode 4: Winter as well as a new Braniac boss fight and incursions.
The fan response to the news has been overwhelmingly negative, with users on Twitter commonly citing the game’s “copy-paste” content and overall low quality.
After a disappointing launch and underwhelming critical reviews, it seems that Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League has not managed to steer the ship in the right direction. The game is available now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and is currently 70% off on PC as a part of the Steam Summer Sale.
