Many fans of the Infamous franchise were eagerly waiting for the announcement of title from the game’s developer Sucker Punch at this past E3. Unfortunately, there was no such announcement during Sony’s conference. This left many fans wondering about the current the stage of the game and whether or not Sony chose not to show it too far ahead of it’s release window or to not take away from titles whom are set to release sooner than later.
During an interview Kinda Funny Game’s Greg Miller asked PlayStation Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida about this very project. “Where are you strategizing to place Sucker Punch’s game?” referring to whether or not if they were planing to reveal the game during E3 or later this year at Playstation Experience.
Yoshida whom had stated back in 2015 that he had played the game then replied “I have played many, many more times of such game; and every time I play … I shouldn’t be talking any more,”he said. “It is a game. They are not making movies. It is now very narrow.” Yoshida added that the game was fun but did say that the development process could be subject to plan.
Playstation’s Scott Rohde also said in 2015 that the game was internally playable at the time although he was playing a very early version. Sucker Punch’s last title was Infamous First Light which was released in 2014. The developer still believes in the future of the franchise but there is the possibility that they could be making an all new IP.
