Stray Souls is an upcoming psychological and survival horror game that features first and third-person points of view. You play as Daniel, a teenager who recently inherited a house from his grandma in the quiet suburbs, where he will have to come to terms with his past. As of now, there is no confirmed release date, but the much-anticipated demo was released yesterday, Dec. 1, 2021, on Steam and Itch.io for the PC. Stray Souls was developed and published by Jukai Studio.
From what we know so far, the game’s premise revolves around Daniel’s experience while living in his grandma’s old house. He meets a girl named Martha, who surprisingly knows more about Daniel than he initially thinks. As Stray Souls’s development progresses, the game already boasts a story-rich plot with multiple endings and many dialogue choices for a unique gameplay experience for each player. To add on to the game’s uniqueness, there are also unexpected moments during the game where scary paranormal events will appear at random to make your gameplay more fun and different.
Stray Souls shows promising game features despite only releasing its demo version. The game has beautiful graphics, where the game’s official Steam page mentions that the characters have realistic facial expressions since they were created using Metahuman technology and Unreal Engine 5. The page also notes that the developer used the Motion Symphony system and motion matching to give the characters realistic animation and movements. The game also includes a combat mechanism where you can use objects you find within the environment to fight off monsters and unknown creatures, or you can hide from them instead.
You can play Stray Soul’s demo out now on Steam and Itch.io. If you want to keep up with Stray Soul’s development and receive updates for the game, you can add Stray Souls to your wishlist on Steam or to your collection on Itch.io and you can follow Stray Soul’s official Twitter account.
