Strange Brigade is the Brand New IP From Rebellion

Rebellion, creators of Sniper Elite 4 and Zombie Army Trilogy, have announced and revealed their brand new IP at this year’s E3: Strange Brigade.  Inspired and influenced by vintage adventure serials like Boy’s Own and classic cinema of the 1930s, Strange Brigade is a third-person cooperative shooter with a distinctive, old-timey British vibe, in which players explore remote, exotic climes of the British Empire as they battle hordes of monsters and quest for treasure.

The E3 demo for Strange Brigade has you choose from one of the four playable characters – Nalangu Rushida, a Maasai warrior from Kenya; Gracie Braithwaite, a Lancashire engineer; Professor Archimedes De Quincey, an archaeologist and Oxford Scholar; Frank Fairburne, a soldier with the ‘coldest eyes in the Empire” – as you play through one brief section of one of the game’s chapters.  In the demo, you go up against loads of undead enemies, mowing them down with a variety of available firearms and traps.

The game also features a special “amulet” mechanic, in which the player’s attacks become progressively more and more powerful as you do consistent damage to enemies and power up your amulet.  Constant fire is needed to maintain a combo and power up the amulet, which begins to lose power if you go to long without shooting a monster, but if you manage to fully charge your amulet, you get to unleash a special superhuman power and wreak absolute havoc on some zombies.
