Stickility is, as its Release Date Trailer notes “THE FIRST* EVER STICKMAN METROIDVANIA” while that statement may not be verified, it does live up to the stickman metroidvania part of the statement, with the trailer boasting different connected locals and fights designed primarily for stickmen. The game published and developed by Reglan will be out October 5th, assumedly to Steam, via the trailer, and during the wait, people can check out its long published demo that’s also on Steam.
With lab wearing stickmen and a robot working in a lab, the trailer begins with peace, which abruptly shatters as deep underneath somewhere, the protagonist stickman faces off against a giant robot piloted by another stickman that’s trying to crush him, with only an axe and a ¾ full health bar. The Stickman faces off against a lone robot with a flame throwing hand, which the stickman manages to defeat with a large swipe of his axe. Moving to a box filled room, the stickman jumps through the air and different boxes. In another room, A well suited stickman throws what looks to be a pair of clippers right at the stickman, who once again jumps to avoid it, throwing his handy dandy axe to draw blood. The stickman also has storage, where items are stored, made and can be equipped; in this run, it equips the “Old Hammer,” to replace the axe. He uses it to immediately smash a police looking stickman’s shield and some gear.
The stickman walks through the lab, causing some workers to cower and some to run, before some robots face off. Then with a double sided axe, the stickman jumps deeper into a drain, runs on a makeshift bridge while a giant robot rises behind him, under two stickmen’s control. Through three words, the trailer makes it known that everywhere the stickman has been exploring is called “BIOTEC.” The stickman fights a mutated stickman monster, a computer with attack powers and a newly identified Biotec worker who he one shots with a cloth roll. There are giant guard looking stickmen, perilous ledges and even more perilous falls.
