Another psychological horror game has stepped into the ring this summer, where players are trapped in an endless alley maze. A single-player game all about detecting aberrations and distinguishing reality from illusions. In The Alley, players are returning home after class, using a familiar route. However, not all is as it seems.
There are aberrations throughout the alley. Signs of something otherworldly that players must photograph to determine if what they see is an aberration or a visual deception. Aberrations that are reported correctly with reward players with keys, which can be used to unlock the “Chest of Truth” and unravel the mystery of the hauntings.
During their search for answers, players will be aided by a bracelet that can detect aberrations. This bracelet was given by the protagonists grandmother and it glows when the player is within the vicinity of these aberrations. It is a useful tool, aiding players to distinguish between aberrations and deceptions. Although deceptions can take on an eerie appearance, they can still be explained within reality and should not be mistaken for an aberration.
Players should also keep their guard up while investigating as they are not alone in the alley. There are ghosts that will relentlessly hunt the player down, drawn to them by a growing obsession. Each irregularity marked incorrectly draws the ghosts closer, making every report count.
One of the games publishers, Thermite Games, posted a short video about the game and revealing the stunning graphics. The video showcases a mix of eerie spirits in the alley while capturing the uneasiness of being pursued.
