After its initial success in December 2019, Steam is announcing another game festival to take place in October 2020. As it is currently called the “Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition” this festival is set to take place from October 7th to the 13 and will mainly feature games that are coming to Steam in the next year or so. On top of this festival, Valve also noted that they will be encouraging developers to host gameplay streams with live Q&A sessions.
This announcement about the fall festival came from Geoff Keighley, who serves as the producer of events such as The Game Awards and more. After making vague statements on Twitter, he finally announced that Steam would be hosting another festival in the fall, along with the specific dates. Soon after this announcement from Keighley, Valve also followed with a post to their official Steamworks Development Community forum confirming the future festival.
Valve is planning another Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition this Fall, running October 7 – 13. Another chance to play free previews of upcoming games.

The first Steam Game Festival started in December 2019 and happened alongside The Game Awards. After the success of these 13 game demos, it was soon followed in March by another festival, soon reaching its massive library of over 900 demos with its most recent festival this summer. The comment section of the Tweets announcing the festival shows many people excited for the upcoming opportunity to play demos now that they know the format of the online festival. At the same time though, there are many others expressing their disdain for the possible mountain of demos to play in such a short time period ( one of the major complaints about the summer festival).
As it is unknown just what the Steam Festival is offering in the fall, fans are able to speculate and build their own list of possibilities by looking at upcoming game titles. Even without confirmation, however, it is possible that there will be a list of titles in the upcoming future, as the festival is only limited to titles that have planned release dates between October 13th, 2020 to May 1st, 2021.
