Through the currently ongoing PlayStation State of Play, the announcement trailer for the game Lumines Arise has been released, created and developed by the creators who made Tetris Effect: Connected. At the end of the trailer, the official release for the game is said to be this Fall 2025, but there has not been an exact release date yet. The game will be playable on PlayStation and the optional PlayStation VR2 support.
The trailer starts off with a cinematic opening, showing off the graphics as well as a song, seemingly from the soundtrack. The rest of the trailer shows off gameplay where player will be able to match blocks, create different combinations, as well as “feel the music in every heartbeat,” according to the description under the trailer.
At the very start of the State of Play livestream, game director Takashi Ishihara and executive producer Tetsuya Mizuguchi said “We hope Lumines Arise’s compelling gameplay, electronic soundtrack, and lavish visuals will draw you in deep, as you forget your worries, your fears- forget yourself- in a synesthetic sensory wonderland.” They have also stated that Lumines Arise brings something new to the table, and “the game is much more than dropping blocks.” Lastly, they later announced that there will be a free single and multiplayer that will be released in the late summer.
