During the PlayStation State of Play livestream was the new pre-order trailer for the game Hirogami, a 3D action platformer game that was inspired by the ancient Japanese art of oragami. The game is developed by Kakehashi Games and Gyaar Studio. Pre-orders for the game starts right now and the game will officially launch on September 3rd, 2025. The game will be available on PlayStation as well as on PC through Steam.
The trailer for Hirogami shows cinematic cuts, gameplay, as well as the story that will unravel through the game. Players will play as Hiro, the master of folding, and players get a glimpse of his special abilities like transforming into a paper plane to get to and from places.
Hiro has the special ability to transform into other animal forms to help him along the way, such as Ama Jii the elder armadilo, who has the ability to roll through enemies, Bingley the frog who can leap to and fro across the landscape, and Shaan Ti the mighty ape who can leap across other dangerous obstacles and battle against the enemies.
Hiro will embark on a journey to save his fragile home from digital invaders. Players will be able to explore and travel around the landscape as different animal forms, solve various puzzles, overcome and defeat enemies, and save his world from said enemies.
As the Steam page says, players will “Bask in a soundscape composed using traditional Japanese instruments and styles – specially crafted to evoke the variety of themes, characters and settings of Hirogami.”
