Stardew Valley Coming to iOS Devices

The lovely and relaxingly themed Stardew Valley is on its way to some mobile devices. On October 9 the developer of the farming sensation, ConcernedApe, announced on the game’s website blog that it will be available on the iOS App Store. The exact date that iOS users will be able to farm on their screens has been set at October 24.

Stardew Valley allows a generally customizable character to inherit a farm in a small town with interesting residents, mysterious locations, and secrets that are surprisingly grindy to achieve. Eric Barone’s title was nominated for Best Game at the 2017 British Academy Film Awards. This was not a shock as Stardew Valley is not just a farming game. Characters can expand their home and decorate it, focus on relationships in the village, and combat monsters under a time constraint while exploring underground caves. Players recognize the game’s uniqueness because of these features and the fact that skill trees exist that include: fishing, farming, and combat.

Owners of iPhones and iPads will be happy to learn that they will have access to the full version of the game with a new user interface. While multiplayer and mods will not be available initially, PC players will have the option to transfer their saves to their iOS device through iTunes. The mobile version of Stardew Valley will be worked on by a completely separate team than the console versions so that one does not affect the other. This is also because the console multiplayer team, Sickhead Games, is working on quality assurance testing for the Switch and then will address the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
